Draws, like this one, channel rainfall and snowmelt into the forerange's numerous canyons such as Soldier Creek, Bear Creek, and the spectacular Sabino Canyon. While the snowmelt and rainfall flows quickly down the draws, enough moisture soaks into the ground to encourage a denser growth of plants.
