The Trail crosses Oak Creek numerous times requiring hikers to "rock hop" from this side of the canyon to the other side. Rain, tumbling down the Canyon, causes the trail to shift from one year to the next but the trail stays close to the creek, roughly parallelling it. The water in most of the creek is only ankle deep but there are places where a hiker might hid pools of deeper water.
