DIRECTIONS:
In Red Lodge, MT, take West Fork Rock Creek Rd. (Forest Rt. 71)
west for 2.8 miles to a "Y" intersection.  Bear left and continue
on West Fork Rock Creek Rd. for 4.4 miles to campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 6,740 ft.

The campground is located on West Fork of Rock Creek (fast moving). 
It is heavily wooded with Lodgepole Pines.  There is no
understory and sites are fairly close together.

DIRECTIONS:
In Red Lodge, MT, take West Fork Rock Creek Rd. (Forest Rt. 71)
west 2.8 miles to a "Y" intersection.  Bear left and continue on
West Fork Rock Creek Rd. for 7.8 miles to campground.

NOTE: Last 3.4 miles of West Fork Rock Creek Rd. is dirt, full of
potholes and single lane in places.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 7,340 ft.

The campground is composed of two loops and located along the
fast-running West Fork of Rock Creek.  It is heavily wooded with
Lodgepole pines and has a grassy understory.  Snowcapped
mountains can be seen from the campground.  Firewood is available
for a fee.

DIRECTIONS:
From Absarokee, MT, take State Rt. 78 south for 12.5 miles to
East Rosebud Rd. (in Roscoe, Mt.).  Turn right onto East Rosebud
Rd. and go 14.5 miles to campground.

NOTE: East Rosebud Rd. is dirt, rocky and full of potholes -
single lane in places.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 6,220 ft.

The campground is located in a valley of the Beartooth Mountains
overlooking East Rosebud Lake.  Although the area is scorched by
a fire, the view remains majestic.  The lake is dominated by
private residences.  The interior road of campground is narrow and
rocky.  Visit the Grizzly Bar and Grill in Roscoe, MT, which
offers an excellent menu for a cook's night out.

From Fishtail, MT, take State Rt. 419 west 0.5 miles to West
Rosebud Rd. sign.  Turn left onto West Rosebud Rd. and go 6.5
miles to West Rosebud Road No. 72 sign.  Turn left at West
Rosebud Road No. 72 sign and go 12.6 miles to campground.

NOTE: After first 6.6 miles, West Rosebud becomes gravel road
with the last 4 miles being washboard.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 6,180 ft.

Campground is above Emerald Lake along West Rosebud Creek.  It is
a scenic location in the shadow of the snowcapped Beartooth
mountains.  Visit the Grizzly Bar and Grill in Roscoe, MT, which
offers an excellent menu for a cook's night out.

From Red Lodge, MT, take US Rt. 212 south for 11 miles to
campgrounds/Forest Rt. 421 sign.  Turn right at sign and go 0.8
miles to campground sign.  Turn left at sign and go 0.2 miles to
campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 7,000 ft.

The campground, about a quarter of a mile from Greenough Lake, 
is located along the Main Fork of Rock Creek in the shadow of 
the Beartooth Mountain Range.  It is situated in a grove
of Alpine Fir and is convenient to the picturesque Beartooth
Scenic Byway.  Firewood available for a fee.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 6,960 ft.

The campground, near Main Fork of Rock Creek, is in the shadow 
of the Beartooth Mountain Range.  Some sites look out onto a 
meadow, while others are adjacent to the Main Fork of Rock Creek. 
The campground is convenient to the picturesque Beartooth Scenic
Byway.  Firewood is available for a fee.

miles to campground sign.  Turn right into campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 6,940 ft.

The campground is adjacent to the Main Fork of Rock Creek.  Heavily
wooded primarily with pines.  There are two loops; some sites in the
lower loop overlook creek.  Convenient to the very scenic
Beartooth Scenic Byway and the Beartooth Pass.  Snow was evident
and easily accessible at time of our visit.

From Fishtail, Mt, take State Rt. 419 west for 0.5 miles to West
Rosebud Rd. sign.  At sign, turn left and go 6.5 miles to West
Rosebud Rd. No. 72 sign.  Turn left at sign and go 8.7 miles to
campground.

NOTE: There are four entrances; first entrance is tent only.  
RVs should enter campground at 4th entrance on left.  The pull 
throughs are across bridge on other side of creek.

The elevation is 5,720 ft.

The campground is located on both banks of West Rosebud Creek in 
the shadows of the Beartooth Mountains.  Visit the Grizzly Bar and 
Grill in Roscoe, MT, which offers an excellent menu for a cook's 
nightout.

From Ashland, MT, take US Rt. 212 east 6 miles to campground
sign.  Turn left at sign into campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 3,120 ft.

The campground is adjacent to US Rt. 212.  It consists of two loops
in pine woods and is pack it in, pack it out.  Although under-maintained
at time of visit, good design and previous care help to make campground 
a pleasant transient stop.

DIRECTIONS:
From Bridger, MT, take US Rt. 310 south 2.4 miles to Pryor
Mountains Access sign (Pryor Rd.).  Turn left onto Pryor Rd. and
go 12.4 miles to Pryor Mountain Rd. (Forest Rt. 3085).  Turn left
onto Pryor Mountain Rd. and go 4.4 miles to a crossroads. 
Continue straight and go 6.2 miles to first left turn (sign has
been removed).  Turn left and go 0.3 miles to campground.

NOTE: All but first 1 mile is gravel or dirt road.  Approximately 
6 miles into the Crow Reservation, road turns into very rough, 
deeply rutted road.  We recommend only vehicles with high clearance 
and, then only, when surface is dry.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 5,520 ft.

This pack it in, pack it out campground is located above Sage Creek.  
Cottonwood, Green ash, and a few Ponderosa pines have been planted 
and promise ample shade to sites in the future.  However, currently the 
campground is sunny, with the only shade provided by ramada-like 
picnic tables and can be warm in summer.  There is an active beaver 
population in Sage Creek offering some interesting wildlife viewing 
opportunities.  Although the sites can accommodate small recreational 
vehicles, this campground is better suited to tent, car campers 
and slide-ins.

DIRECTIONS:
In Nye, MT, take State Rt. 419 west 8.1 miles to campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 5,060 ft.

The campground is nestled beside the fast-running Stillwater River 
in the shadow of the Beartooth Mountain Range and within the Big 
Horn Sheep's Winter Range.  Many sites have scenic views of the 
river and mountain range.  Several walk-in tent sites are at the 
river's edge.  Firewood is available for a fee.
