STATE: Idaho

REGION: Northern

RANGER DISTRICT: Coeur d'Alene River

NEAREST CITY/TOWN: Coeur d'Alene

RESERVATIONS: 1-877-444-6777 or make on-line reservation

DIRECTIONS:
From Coeur d'Alene, ID, take Interstate 90 east 6.9 miles to
State Rt. 97. Bear right onto Rt. 97 (Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic

to campground sign. Turn right into campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 2,100 ft.

The campground is located near Coeur d'Alene Lake along Beauty Creek
in a narrow valley. It is on a flat, sparsely wooded area
between heavily wooded hillsides. There are walk-in tent
sites, some of which showed signs of erosion. The campground is
half a mile from Coeur d'Alene Lake.

A day trip to Coeur d'Alene, ID should be fun for families and
singles alike. Coeur d'Alene Lake is huge with about any
type of water sports activity. In town, one can rent paddle boats,
purchase a 25 minute ride on a sea plane, go parasailing, take a
ride around the lake on a ferry (with brunch or dinner -
optional), swim at the very long sandy beach, etc. Or, just walk
around in the park and town. The lake area of Coer d'Alene
reminded the authors of some lake towns in Switzerland and Italy. All in
all - a neat place to visit and just have fun.
