| The Army called them an "Igloo" but we refer to these structures as "Bunkers." Used to store explosives, they have thick side walls of re-enforced cement but the roof has only a thin level of dirt. The idea was if an explosion occurred, the blast would go skyward and the surrounding bunkers would be safe. | |
