| The Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is a place in recovery. The west side of Midewin shows progress. Many structures from the former Joliet Arsenal and farms have been removed. And, native plants are beginning to thrive once again. The east side of Midewin, where this auto tour was given, has retained much of the Arsenal's appearance. |
