STATE: Montana

REGION: Northern

RANGER DISTRICT: Pintler

NEAREST CITY/TOWN: Philipsburg

RESERVATIONS: 1-877-444-6777 or make on-line reservation

DIRECTIONS:
From Philipsburg, MT, take State Rt. 1 south for 11.3 miles to
campground sign. Turn left at sign into campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 6,400 ft.

The campground is one large, bi-sected loop across State Rt. 1
from Georgetown Lake. The loop section to the right of campground's
entrance has somewhat smaller parking aprons and is more tent-friendly
while the left side is RV-friendly but many of the parking aprons have
been dug out of the hillside. This provides for reasonably level
parking aprons but the rest of the campsite is elevated. Hazard tree
removal around the campground's perimeter opened many campsites and
reduced shade provided to these campsites. There are two loops - one
for tents and the other for RVs. Situated in rustic setting among
tall pines, most campsites have a limited view of Georgetown Lake.

This is bear country, a bear box is available. Practice safe food
storage technique.
