Keep Fido, Kitty, or Polly Safe
When traveling, a paramount concern is keeping our pets, Fido, Kity, or Polly, safe. This is especially true in the RV.
I have said, as a joke, that Fred is more likely to hit the road for another camping adventure without me than to leave his dogs behind. And he wouldn’t start our RV without first putting them in their travel harness. They need to be safe, too. Would you ride in a vehicle without using a seat belt? So, why would you NOT restraint your pet?
An unrestrained pet can be seriously injured in the event of even a minor accident.
A 60-pound unrestrained dog becomes a 2,700 pound projectile at just 35 mph!
An unrestrained pet can also cause a driving distraction that poses a danger to driver, passengers, and other drivers on the road, as well as to bystanders.
When involved in an accident, a loose pet can escape the vehicle in the confusion, becoming lost or injured in the aftermath.
These are all good reason to keep your pet in a harness when traveling. It’s for their safety and yours.
