Keeping my knitting clean

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know I like to knit.   Each season I bring a collection knitting projects and work on them all season.  This year those projects are an assortment of Holiday gifts (FYI: no sweaters or afghan blankets this year).

The challenge I’ve been facing this year with each project, because of the heat and leaf litter has been protecting my projecting my yarn and projects.  I swear Dani has dropped enough fur (a definite Golden trait) to make another dog.  And Ralf’s fur seems to attract every loose piece of the forest he gets near.  My conclusion is, dog fur and knitting yarn together just isn’t a good thing.

What to do?  I got a one pound coffee can, washed it out really well and poked a hole in the middle of the plastic lid.  The yarn for my current project is threaded through that hole and the yarn is stored inside the can, safe and sound.  I added a couple of sturdy rubber bands around the outside to hold the knitting needles and instructions when not in use.
