After the Molino Basin campground, at the Seven Cataract Vista, the landscape transitions from the Sonoran desert ecosystem into a landscape filled with scrub juniper growing between boulders containing shiny chunks of quartz and feldspar. There is little to hide the mountain's rugged face.
