The Umpqua section of the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway may have a greater number of waterfalls, but those in the Rogue section are just as lovely and worthy of the short trek to them. The trail to National Creek Falls is designed for the whole family to enjoy. Some 0.4 miles in length, the trail, through a lush stand of mixed conifers, uses switchbacks to minimize the grade and make the walk back up to the car easier. Even in August, when we were there, National Creek Falls was impressive and, the time spent next to its pool, refreshing.
