Another place to begin the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway is in Prospect, Oregon, on State Route 230. This quaint forest community offers limited grocery shopping, gasoline, and a cook's night out. Boise/Cascade Corporation is an important presence in Prospect and has provided the community and visitors with access to the 174-foot Mill Creek Falls. At the south end of Prospect is a small parking area were the trail to either Mill Creek Falls or Avenue of Boulders begins. This photo was taken from an informal viewing area across a deep ravine/canyon. The waterfalls feeds the Rogue River with its year-round flow.
