138_16_toketeefalls3.jpg Toketee Falls is a double-tiered waterfall with water plunging over columnar basalt walls, first 80 feet and than 40 feet into an emerald green pool. The trail to the falls' observation deck winds through an old-growth forest beside cascading water in a narrow rock gorge. This trail is one of the most challenging we hiked in the Umpqua National Forest but, even with two dogs and a load of camera equipment, it was manageable. A little picnic area at the trailhead is a great place for lunch or a snack.
