We had been climbing pretty steady for awhile. Now, the trees are below us and the slope is so steep the trail is a series of switchbacks. After another 20 or 30 minutes, we decided it was enough. We had been hiking for about 2 hours and climbed from 4800 feet to 6054 feet. The trail went from wide and level to wide and steep to narrow and rocky. It has been a good day and we have seen some great sights. It was good to get back to the car and take off our hiking boots.
