This is Angel Glacier. Can you see the wings stretching across the ridge? I know it isn't easy to see. Can you believe those "wings" are banks of ice almost 40 meters tall! Angel Glacier is termed a "cirque glacier" meaning it has carved out a bowl where it "lives." As impressive as it is now, Angel Glacier, like the others in the area, is receding. The glacier's "angel" form was more apparent in photographs taken 25, 50 and 100 years ago.
