A busy beaver on display. It is estimated a beaver can cut down about 200 trees per year. At 44 pounds and 32 inches (both are averages), including the tail, the beaver is the largest rodent (as in mice?!!?) in North America. One word used by Native people for beaver can be translated into the English word "affable" meaning easygoing and friendly.
