You can see almost all that is left of Leadfield in this photograph. Leadfield "boomed" during 1926 and 1927. An example of slick marketing, about 100 people came to mine lead and "make it rich". Unfortunately for them, that didn't happen. The mines can be seen, dotting the canyon's walls, but beware of the danger if you decide to explore any of those abandon portals. Loose rocks, rotten timbers, and animals are all potential hazards. |
