Based on 18 years of receiving several thousand emails, there are many campers who do not think there are NF/NG campgrounds with RV hookups. Wrong! In fact, as of 5/9/2012, there are:

- 59 CGs with water & elec. hookups;
- 104 CGs with elec. [only] hookups;
- 16 CGs with water [only] hookups;
- 1 CG with water & sewer hookups; and last but not least
- 28 CGs with full hookups.

For CGs with full hookups we've prepared this table for discussions and help in preparing your camping trips - http://www.forestcamping.com/forum_docs/full_hookups.pdf

Hi Fred, You listed Eagle, in Lassen National Forest, CA as a full hookup CG. If you check your description, only one space has full hookups.  That is for the host. The description that it is a full hookup CG may be misleading.

When we researched the CG in 2005, the full hookup campsite was available for $35 per night with priority given to campers with disabilities. This was confirmed by the Forest Service (FS) in 2009 - they haven't updated us since then. We will talk with the ranger district office on Monday to see if the site is available when it is not occupied by a host and whether the "campers with disabilities" statement still applies. Based on what we determine, the table, our website, books, etc. will be updated accordingly.

This finding by Korbe (thanks) is but one example of why we need help to keep the data current (see forum below where we're asking for volunteers). Although we are going back to re-research campgrounds, there is no way we can physically get back to the 2400 plus dev. CGs we've researched to date. Although we request the FS to update us annually, we're lucky to get a 60 to 70 percent response; this year it's probably less than 50%.

Maybe when you all visit a NF/NG campground, you could print out the data from our website and match it with your own experience while there. If differences, let us know. We, but mainly campers, will appreciate the updates.

Did you notice how many campgrounds with full hookup are in the South? Wonder why?

Korbe is correct, the full hookup campsite at Eagle CG is no longer available to the public. So, the total full hookups across the U.S. is adjusted down to 30 campgrounds. I've adjusted the number above and on Facebook. Thanks again, Korbe.

As of 5/9/2012, the number of full hookups across the U.S. is adjusted to 27 campgrounds.

The number of campgrounds with full hook-ups may have dropped but those with hot showers have increased to 214! Will be update "Are there any hot showers?" article in Camping with Suzi asap.
