I am planning on taking a short camping trip to NW Arkansas area. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go and what to see?

It would be hard to beat Blanchard Springs Recreation Area in Ozark NF. Good fishing, super campsites, a cave to explore, great hiking, Fall colors (maybe) - I could go on. Take a look at the Ozark NF's web pages on our website. I would also suggest a visit to Mountain View and the Folk Park/Museum there and a trip into Fifty-six for a piece of pie there. You can miss the place as it is the only eatery in town.

Sam's Throne campground was pretty outstanding, too, especially if you are a tent camping rock climbers.

We stayed at Long Pool, north of Russelville, last May. It was fairly crowded on the weekend but cleared out Sunday afternoon. There are tent sites as well as electric/water hookups. Great swimming hole! Last summer's drought made the river low, but we still were able to float. We also drove up the mountain to see the Dover Lights, and we actually saw them. Very nice place.
