We are curious to know how many of you use GPS coordinates to find a campground. Please respond to the poll.

Once I find the general location of a campground from various mapping sources, I normally use Google Earth to zoom in and check it all out. I use it to note mileage, road surface and condition, tree cover and general topography.

Well, having the coordinates makes things a whole lot easier and saves time. We are gradually updating forestcamping.com to include GPS coordinates for each campground.

I almost totally depend on GPS coordinates. I either find the info on a website, a smartphone app or I use Google Maps.
There are a lot of "directions" that are confusing and require lots of searching on a map to get to your destination. I don't understand why more campground locators don't use coordinates with the popularity of GPS.

I was mistaken in stating we'll be posting GPS coordinates on our website. Not true. They are available in our Ebooks only. Sorry, hope I did not cause any problems.

WE use them when the information is available. We also look to see where we are going on maps. Occasionally, the GPS wants to take a sightly different tour than we had planned.

I'll use it to find the location of a campground but I ALWAYS check the route out on DeLorme , Google earth or this website to make sure the forest roads are passable.
