Some of the GPS units for cars also have the ability to provide the location coordinates of where you are at so when you get to a site you like, just write down the information per Freds instructions.

My old Blackberry also had the ability to display GPS coordinates so you can see there are multiple ways to participate in this.

We have 2 GPS units at this time.

We have a Garmin NUVI 550 for our general driving about. It has the option for geocaching, but we have not used it yet.

For participating in Geocaching, we use a Garmin GPS60CS, which we have been very happy with. Having a pointer to find the off road caches is very nice.

Blackberries, especially if they are loaded with Google maps are quite accurate.

I also have a Garmin 60CSx loaded with numerous topo maps (some Garmin, some custom). Since I travel with only my Malamute, I also have a Toshiba 16" laptop, running Garmin nRoute mounted to a RAM mount in front of the passenger seat.

However, I have never geocached.

Maybe someday, but never had a big desire to geocache. Guess I have been more interested in running extreme obstacle trails in UT, and doing cross-country expedition type trails when I get time off.

But, who knows what tomorrow will bring....

We are talking about Virtual Geocaching, not treasure hunting. Perhaps you could share some of the trails with those who might be interested in locating such grueling activities . . . Fred

I have been depending on my blackberry as a fallback lately, but it's pretty difficult to reload maps if you lose signal.

I like going off trail at times, so I feel like I need to get a real GPS in case I get myself in a pickle and need to find my way back to the car.

Is the 60CSx a good model? I'm not into geocaching, though.

I have a RIM Blackberry 7520, the phone is really old and outdated i only use it for the push to talk features.. In brief blackberry's are PDA' s that double as a phone and are ideal for people with very busy lifestyles. push to talk, no longer offered (nextel carrier anyway), is basically a long distance walkie talkie, nationwide in fact. all RIM BBerries brings calendar, tasks, timers, alarms, email, Internet, chat, and much more applications.
:)

Hello,
I use the Numark Mixtrack Pro which hooks up to your laptop using Virtual Dj.
Not sure if it is vinyl you are looking for but I produce my own music using FL Studio so its all in mp3/wav format. Check out some videos on Youtube on the Mixtrack Pro, I think you can pick one up for around £169 and its perfect for semi-pro users. I produce trance / techno music using it with Fruity Loops Studio.
Hope that helps a little
:)

Thanks

Highly recommend the Delorme PN30. It has served me very well for a couple of years now through wet freezing weather and bouncing around on the back of a horse.

Garmin Nuvi and TOM TOM do the job pretty nicely and with ease. I guess its because of wide usage they network is quiet elaborate and accurate. , i have read some good things about them on Testfreaks
