I am exclusively a tent camper, but I don't mind mixing it up in an electrical loop in the summer so I can have a fan! So many times when we are camping the quiet hours are not enforced. We usually have kids with us, not to mention they wear us out pretty early, but we hang on until quiet hours figuring everyone will quiet down then. It is extremely annoying to listen to people partying and obnoxious, dogs barking etc after quiet hours. We were camped one long weekend on a tent only loop with no electricity because we like the quiet. One site had a party going that you could hear through the whole loop until 3am. Rangers were patrolling but no one said anything to them, and I know all the other tent campers around them had to be up all night. I could not understand why nothing was done about this, and it has happened several times, along with people leaving the site for the day and leaving a barking tied up dog that no one will do anything about.
Another time, people were blaring a stereo with rap music that was NOT appropriate for the kids that were camped next to them, but it was not the rangers that stopped it, it was the other campers. Rangers patrolled by and kept on driving....

When you see the ranger come by, flag him/her down and express your concerns. As far as noisy neighbors, more and more inconsiderate people are out there and we normally leave and go somewhere else.

Yes we have done this in the past, now though it seems the rangers dont seem to come around. I think it may have something to do with budget cuts. I am seeking out more and more campgrounds that are not so developed and are a little more isolated. Like I said we only tent camp, and sometimes giving up showers and nearby water is worth the isolation
:P

Sometimes, the only people coming by are the campground hosts and they don't have the impact of a ranger.

About the only way to get away from the problem you describe is to backpack in to a remote site. Sad but true. Been reading and poking my nose around the forum and I have to agree with the original poster of this thread. What I would like to see ENFORCEMENT.
:!:
And I would be willing to chip in to make that happen.
