I am interested in camping on the Grand Mesa anywhere from mid-June to the first week in July. I have never been there and am wondering about dispersed camping in 40' motorhome. I also notice there are several campgrounds that do not take reservations that will acoomodate my motorhome. How available are these during the week?

Are trails open for ATV riding at this time of year.

Thank you,
Punch50

Mesa is part of the Valley of the Sun. In July in an RV, you will be extremely hot. If it is possible to stay inside a house with air conditioning, please, for the sake of those you love, do so. Otherwise, go back home and return in the winter. Temperatures can easily heat to 120 degrees and your RV will NOT cool down at night!!! People die here in the summer!!!

Poonamt93, I assume YOU are talking about Mesa, AZ. However, the OP is talking about GRAND MESA in Colorado. All the campgrounds in Grand Mesa NF are at 9,800' and above...most of them are at 10,000' and above, so I don't imagine it gets really hot there in the summer!
