Had the opportunity to get away and camp at Franklin Lake Campground in Nicolet National Forest of the Memorial Day weekend. The weather was fabulous (68-70 during day and 45 degress at night). The fishing was great but the boat landing, which is shallow at the best of times was even worse due the the lack of participation the area had last winter. Made getting the boat out into the main part of the lake an interesting experience. The campgound is great because of its excellent, spacious sites and wildlife. I'd say tht the campground was never more than 3/4's full. Our fellow campers were wonderful too. All in all, a great weekend.
