When you have company over to the house for dinner, even if you have children, there are attempts at cleaning up and a clean kitchen is always nice. But when you go camping everything is in a mess and your company (other campers) can see how you live. No one ever says anything like: "look at that messy table over there, honey. I'd hate to go over there and borrow something."
Well if you car & tent camp I think I found an answer to always having a clean field kitchen. I found them at Wal-mart for under $20 for both, in the storage section. Wal-mart has two & three drawer systems to fit any space.
What you do is measure the space available in your vehicle(our's is a lift back tail-gate on a Jeep Grand Cherokee) and will hold two, three drawer units and our ice chest in the rear, perfect. We started it along time ago when our five children were growing up. When we could afford buying extra salt & pepper shakers we stored them away in our field kitchen. Soon we had a kitchen packed that we didn't have to unpack every time we came back from the boonies, savy. Anyway it works for us still.
C & C welcomed any time. Thank you for looking and allowing me to spend a moment with you. What works for you?
PS: Plenty other campers routinely come over to borrow something and ask what a clean campsite we have.
