I don't know whether many can help you because getting GPS coordinates for dispersed camping is fairly new in the world of GPS coordinates. If you are not talking dispersed camping and want developed campgrounds in the Black Hills National Forest (although not as secluded), then I suggest you click on the icon upper left on this page and select the Black Hills. Browse through the campground listing and see if any meet your criteria. If you still want GPS coordinates for one of the developed campgrounds, let me know and I'll try figure them out for you . . . example of a geocache coordinate- N 45° 16.141 W 093° 14.650

example of a google maps coordinate- 45.02695,-93.251953

Sorry you are having difficulty with the GPS coordinates.

You probably already know some of this, but for Google maps in your web browser, type in the address http://maps.google.com/. Or, type http://www.googlemaps.com - both URL addresses get you to the same place. Now, at the top of the Google map page, type in the search field:
n29 21.292, w081 44.068 and click on "Search Maps." That will take you to the entrance of Salt Springs CG in the Ocala NF (FL) on the Google map. Google does convert the coordinates above to a different format, but you can enter the coordinate format as displayed above for the virtual geocache game. By the way, your example GPS coordinate is 16525 Polk St NE, Andover, MN 55304.

As for your magellan sportrak device, please take a look at the "Guidelines" topic and see if that doesn't help you set the format we use in your device. Let us know how things work out . . . Fred
