During the 1880s, this town was the primary entry and exit location for miners, prospectors, ore and materials. Managed by the BLM, only a few buildings and foundations remain with exhibits explaining the town's history. Several trails leave the town, one of which is a 4-mile, easy and level circuit hike that includes the ruins of a stamp mill. It is a bit of an exaggeration to say it's near the Coronado National Forest, but . . . Here are a few pictures:
