What is this incredible historical structure, built in 1766, and where is it? What NF is located close enough for a day trip?

This appears to be The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA; nearby to the George Washington National Forest.
While I don't think my efforts at this could be considered geocaching, I want to thank Fred & Suzi for providing the information that allows us to
"see and explore" so many places we had never even heard of and will likely never get a chance to visit.
