What do you guys and gals think about the Forest Service providing some kind of Monthly Camping Discount Card - pay for the card ahead of time and get 30 days of camping for a discounted price. It would be similar to the monthly card you get from a communter railroad.

Example - Assume that the typical daily fee for a FS campground is $20. If you buy the monthly pass, the equivalent daily fee is $15. Another benefit is that you would not have to put cash in the envelope (how often do we have exact change? )
All you would have to enter is your card number and expiration date.

Would you like this option? How would you make it even better?

Personally I like the existing "pay as you stay" process. I make sure I bring my check book when I stay at Forest Service campgrounds. And when the campground is not on the reservation system, I can put another envelope in the pay post if I want to stay longer. Simple and least expensive. Now with the Monthly Camping Discount Pass (MCDP), my guess is the FS would contract the processing and it would ultimately cost more - like concessionaires.

Like Korbe, I usually pay by check, and also use the Golden Age Pass...I'm betting they wouldn't go for a double discount! It might be a convenience and a savings for some, unless it had an expiration date (which is sort of implied if it's called a Monthly Pass)
