We took a trip up to Vancouver Island this year and I thought you might like to see a few of the spots we visited on the way there and on the way back.(If a couple of these look a little hazy it's due to a lot of smoke from forest fires) This one is a nice shady spot in Sims Flat CG (Shasta NF). A nice little campground to rest up after a couple of days on the road.
We've all seen hundreds of pictures of Mt. St. Helens but actually standing there is an experience that exceeds the reach of the camera....
Prior to Mt. St. Helens, Lassen Peak in Lassen Volcanic National Park was the most recent eruption in the "Lower 48". Today the area is a testament to the recovery powers of nature.
Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park is understandably one of the most visited spots in the park...not only for the mountain vistas but also the profusion of wildflowers.
Cape Flattery, also in ONP is the most northwesterly point in the "Lower 48" and well worth the modest hike to get there.
