We just returned from a trip down Skyline Drive. Where we stayed one night at Big meadows, which is a National Park Campground. The next 2 nights we spent at Sherando Lake which is a Forest Service campground about 10 miles west of the nortern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. About 30 of the sites have electric hookups in B&C loops. Sites are fairly large . Most are shaded but a few are in the sun. They have nice bathrooms with showers. there is also a beach and visitors center. Roads in and out are in good shape. Imagine it gets full over the summer, especially on weekends, but we enjoyed our stay in the off season.

Sorry Ed,
our digital camera got wet when our canoe flipped the week before and had to send it in for repairs. So, I didn't get any pictures. Had to make do with the video camera.
But if you do a little web surfing,I know you can find a few.
