Dear Suzi and Fred,
Would you ever consider adding off-season availability to your reviews. We travel in the shoulder seasons and often find that even though the CG is officially closed for the season, they are open if accessible, but with no services, sometimes free and sometimes for a reduced fee. That's fine for those of us who are self-contained. On the other hand we have arrived at closed CGs and found them gated. I have found that there is often no way to determine if a CG is available in off season from either Forest Camping or NFS websites.
Thanks,
Camperwest

camperwest,

We have tired, were the FS says it is okay, to show a campground's full season including the shoulder season. Thus the phrase "Services provided" for some campgrounds. But as concessionaires step in, the season we are given seems to shorten to Memorial Day to Labor Day. We might know a campground will continue to be open beyond these dates, generally for hunt seasons, but since the FS doesn't provide, we feel we can post what we think over what we know. Oh for a perfect world
:)

Thanks Suzi,
I sure wish the NFS would get back into the Campground business instead of trying to get out of it.
