Post subject: Sam Brown Campground, Siskiyou forest

Does anyone know if Sam Brown horsecamp in the Siskioyu National Forest, is still open to the public? I heard they were going to close it down. The last time we were there was in 2008.

According to our data, Sam Brown cg was open last year and we haven't heard differently for 2010. But our data does not include the horse camp. As the only developed horse camp in the Siskiyou NF's in Wild River District, I sure hope they aren't thinking about closing it. Give the District folks a call to be sure.

Thanks for the info. The SB horsecamp side was/is voluntarially maintained by the Sherriffs mounted possee group..i think. I will give the office a call to be sure. Thanks so much.
