The idea of a forum about Nat'l. Forest Camping is a good one as there are certaily a ton of great Nat'l. Forest campsites, however, I would hope that there mighr also be a thread on the forum for camping in Nat'l. Parks, Nat'l. Monuments and State Parks as there are so many great campsites there also and many fit in well with an individuals trips to various Nat'l. Forests

Jon - we have no objection to talking about camping in the parks - federal, state and local. Such discussions could fit into any of the categories. However, our emphasis is on national forests which are unknown and misunderstood by so many of us. Throughout our website we talk about visiting the parks, monuments as day trips from national forest campgrounds - that, where possible, camping in national forest campgrounds is our usual preference to camping in crowded parks . . . Fred,
Perhaps I did not make myself clear. I'm NOT suggesting a new forum rather just a thread for camping in Nat'l. Parks, Nat'l. Monuments, State Parks, Etc.
In some forty years of car camping (primarily in the fourteen [14] western states) I have camped in many, many Nat'l. Forest Campgrounds and have enjoyed almost all of them. Some are amung the nicest campgrounds that I have been in.
Probably have camped in more Forest Campgrounds than in Nat'l. & State Park Campgrounds, however, some of those Park Campgrounds have also been amung the most scenic, nicest, most enjoyable of all and I just wanted to be sure that any camping enthusiests that join the forum understand what the Parks have to offer and that the Forest Campgrounds are not the only alternative.
Yes, I understand your preference for the Forest Campgrounds, given your work on the Guides. Great job by the way. Hope that this will clear the air. Best wishes for an open and busy forum. Happy Holidays to you and Suzi.
