No new posts Is Recreation Sustainable in NFs and NGs?

Because of reduced annual Congressional appropriations and other factors, it is likely national forests and grasslands will examine their ability to sustain recreation.

No new posts Does the Forest Service care about recreation in national forests?

We have heard on several occasions the Forest Service is more interested in such things as timber sales and endangered species. Recreation is in the low end of priorities. What do you think?

No new posts Privatization of national forest campgrounds

On June 6, 2012, the American Recreation Coalition (ARC) met with the Forest Service where it set forth a proposal to modernize national forest campgrounds (and marinas). Some view this proposal as a way to ". . . heighten the influence of concessionaires in the national forests, and that the public opposes such influence." The purpose of this forum is to provide a platform for information and discussions about this very volatile subject.
