teahouse2.jpg The Plains of Six Glaciers Teahouse was built in 1927 by two Swiss guides who had been hired by Lake Louise Hotel to assist guests explore the area. The guides saw the teahouse as a halfway house or resting place. Today, this teahouse is open only during the warmer months and offers a limited menu of simple sandwiches, moist desserts, and some of the best tea brewed in the area. Everything is made at the teahouse, right in or on top of a white enamel stove. Supplies are air-lifted to the teahouse in the early summer and supplemented during the season when the teahouse staff bring supplies, such as milk, lettuce, and the like, up from town after their day off.
