18dog_pt3.jpg When we first got to Dog Point a man was sitting on this outcrop of Coconino Sandstone. We later met him and learned he was from back east (Louisiana or maybe Mississippi) and was there looking for solitude. Solitude might be the best thing about Dog Point or maybe it's the hours one can spend watching the raptors, like eagles and hawks, soar by. Than again, it could be both and more. You just have to visit and assess the wonders of the North RIm of the Grand Canyon for yourself.
