Our first hike in Canada was around Emerald Lake. It is a beautiful place from every angle. If memory serves, the peak in the background is made of Burgess Shale. The 515 million year-old remains of more than 120 species of marine animals have been found on the peak. The buildings across the lake are in a charming resort.
