04pinnacles_paulina_peak.jpg Four miles by road or trail from the Historic Paulina Lake Guard Station (now a Visitor Center), Paulina Peak is the hightest point in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. It is said, on a clear day, you can see the Cascade Range from California to Washington as well as the Basin and Range region of eastern Oregon. Even on days when you can only clearly view the caldera, its lakes, and surrounding landscape, it is a breath-taking experience.
