Actually, our first aide kit never leaves the motorhome and we have a mini one tucked under the Suzuki's front sit. And I have a bag of dried blueberries in the pantry for any tummy troubles. Thank you for the reminder to check our kits to make sure everything is still good and up-to-date.

I know you guys are going to enjoy this trip. It's going to be a long one and I know you'll face a lot of challenges. Just make sure that you're going to bring the essential first aid materials because you won't know what you'll be encountering in the wilderness.

Yes, most of the road will probably be closed to motorized vehicles forever. However, the good part is many will be converted into trails for use by hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders.

People think differently, which in this case is on how they would define being out there in the forest, with nature. But whether or not people have their own concept of "camping" and "staying" it shouldn't be a matter of issue to anyone.

Are they closing the roads for good? Maybe they're just planning to do some rehabilitation in the area because of wildlife issues, perhaps?

Language is an interesting thing, and we often say more about ourselves than about the comment we are making.

I agree about the serenity of the Nat. Forests. Without a doubt.

Whether "camping" and "staying" are a distinction without a difference depends an awful lot on how people think about their lives. From personal knowledge there are people who would consider either term to be the more relaxing, desired, restful state. For some "camping" is more transitory while "staying" has more of a settled-into-their-life feeling.

It's interesting the way different folk take the same experience and stand it on it's head.

Cheers,

Peter

Very good suggestions. Actually, I'd prefer to go camping on National Forests instead of parks because I'd be bothered by the crowd, too. You'd actually feel the essence of nature if you choose to camp in a place with no disturbance at all.
