Reminder to be “Bear Aware”

More campers will be seeing this poster on fee boards at national forest campgrounds this year. As the bear population increases so must our awareness of the dangers. One thing I like about the poster’s message is in the upper right hand corner – a bear and a squirrel. Yes, bears are a serious worry but that little graphic in the corner should remind us, little critters are always on the look out for an easy, free meal.

This is great! At least, a lot of people will be more prepared when they go camping. I hope there are big displays of this reminder on information centers for all the visitors to visibly see it.

Very good suggestions. Actually, I’d prefer to go camping on National Forests instead of parks because I’d be bothered by the crowd, too. You’d actually feel the essence of nature if you choose to camp in a place with no disturbance at all.
